I learn english. This is my first real translation. As Bev says, my wonderful teacher of english, "your sentences sounded very much like translations instead of ideas expressed in English". The science fair 2005 is almost finished. This year was special because it was the tenth anniversary of the event. The planners of the project have organized a bigger event than last year. They did several more shows all around the square building called the "Carré Curial". Thus, the mayor and the old mayor should have visited the pavillion where we were. We regret that those VIPs didn't come us to see. It's a pity for them!
We had a comfortable area of 18m² :-) . There were heaps of computers spread out over the table, ready to run and to do the demo of scientific or public free software. The visitors, always many and interested, have discovered GNU/Linux and free software. There were two different kinds of people. The first people were people who didn't know about free software. It was a quite like a vendor.(Sorry I don't know what you mean here.) For the second kind of people, they already knew about free software and they were searching for more of a response to problems they have with software like firefox (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/) , OpenOffice.org (http://www.openoffice.org/) or The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/). For each enquiry, we tried to talk about GNU's philosophy, that is to say that software is based on the idea of sharing. Even if the planning wasn't so good, the weekend went very well. I would like to thank la Galerie Euréka (http://www.ccsti-chambery.org/) for their welcome. Special thanks also should go to every Alpinuxiens for travelling across the weekend, and for their good mood. I think to JS, JR, Jean Do, Saber, LOG, JN, Loïs and Marija and Raphy. Finally, I would like to say thank you very much to the people who went to Alpinux's indoor stand to discover the free software to their (great) benefit. :-)

that's a pretty good translation, every french people could inderstand it. ;-)
On vois vraiment que le document arrive directement du traducteur au site de alpinux, surtout quand on lit :
"It was a quite like a vendor.(Sorry I don't know what you mean here.)"
